I guess the reason it did not dawn on me is simple. I know where and why he vanished. Now about other of my former readers...I am still wondering. But not "My Bro in ND".
I know that some of you must think that we are having a tiff, a squabble, a falling-out. Over of course my very opinionated views on things like child-rearing, politics, and religion. Right? That has to be it. I drove him away, he ran with his tail-between-his-legs, dragging his blankie and sucking his thumb, looking for mama. He could not take the heat so he left the kitchen.
While my views may sometimes differ from his, I doubt seriously that anything I could say or do would send my equally opinionated and verbal brother running. That is just not the Latunski style.
No, as far as I know...I am not responsible for his absence at all. As far as I know...he still loves and adores me just the same. As far as I know...he still thinks that I am a talented writer and a witty gal. And Shane, even if that last part has changed--just play along with my delusion, would ya?
The truth of my bro's absence is simple. Life. Believe it or not, some people can not just read and comment on blogs all day. The horror. A few major changes in he and his family's schedule...school, work, etc. have left little time for him to chat with me via the Internet. So, while I miss his wit and input terribly, I respect his intentions completely.
Yes, we still talk. Now just in one of my least favorite ways...the TELEPHONE!

Hope you brother and his family are doing well.
I know just what you are talking about and what they are going through. As we are going through a few major changes in he and our family's schedule too.
I just don't have the time to post or comment as much anymore.
Have a great day Heidi.
Hugs, Lori
Oh how I miss the wit of "Bro from ND". Doesn't he know that he had a fan base? :)
Teresa you're cracking me up!
Really...people still talk on the phone?
Believe it or not, I actually felt like talking on the phone for once last night. Usually I just cringe when I hear it ring because I am on it so much at work. I usually make Craig answer it to see if he can take care of the call or if I absolutely have to talk to the other person. Sounds horrible, I know but I just HATE talking on the phone. I would rather meet the other person for a cup of coffee and a slice of "fat free" pie. I too miss your brothers witty comments. Tell him hello from all of us in bloggerville.
What your readers might not know is that Shane and Dawn are dressed-up for last year's 'Spooktacular'.
Jeremiah Johnson and his Indian bride. (Dawn won BEST costume).
I miss Shane's wit and wisdom, too. But LIFE has a way to muddle things, doesn't it? And the phone --- hate it (to answer).
What ever happened to smoke signals, beating drums, pony express, the telegraph,or just writing letters?
I'm with uncle joey - what happened to smoke signals?
Telephone conversations....has been awhile since I have done that!
LOL. My sister and I are the same way.
Shane! Come back!
I miss the Pirate!
Is that you in the picture?
My bro and I are super close and he doesn't even read my blog. :-)
that's is, as uncle joey pointed out, shane and his wife...dawn. dressed for the annual 'spooktacular' held in my parents home town.
Seriously, some people don't blog/read blogs all day? :0
my family tells me they read my blog but they don't have the time or inclination to comment. sometimes i wish they did, but understand that not everybody is into blogging. hard to imagine :D, but understand.
My brothers and I live within a few miles radius from one another and they don't blog, read my blog, or call me....EVER!
I still love them to pieces
"What we have here is a failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach."
Let me start by saying that I don't believe that any political, religious, parenting, or any other view could cause me to have any less respect for you than I have right now.
You are the greatest! I love your blog and dearly miss the time to get to check in. Usually it is once a week or so and think it a waste of time to comment. You have already put the topic to bed. Besides it is so much better to strike while the iron is hot.
My absence is due to the fact that I have been working full time for Habitat for Humanity. I have left (with some trepidation) the world of SAHDs and now almost daily, assess the weight of my decision. I love what I do, yet miss this forum. I feel a sense of security, however, just in knowing it is here. It humbles me especially to know that I may be missed.
As for the phone calls, you are on my "fave five" and that is an elite group.
Love You Sis,
-shane
Awww - such a sweet Pirate!
