We have had some big changes around here. Some changes that
could make a mama's heart heavy, but I have never been one to mourn the passing of a 'stage' so much as revel in the excitement that moving forward brings.
The crib was disassembled. The crib that each of my five children have spent the first two years of their precious lives in. The crib that my grandmother, who has since passed on, purchased for us.
With the crib taking its exit, it was time to move our little firework into a big girl bed, to turn her baby room into a room filled with the signs of a little girl. Thankfully my mom was on board to help, I could not have accomplished any of this without her strong back, and loving hands.
This bedroom set was acquired....for FREE.
That makes me like it all the more.
This dresser now has the mirror attached.
Andrew's room. Boyish blue.

I had painted the big girls' room last year.
But still had some furniture issues to work out.
This bed is part of an old bunk set (O.L.D).
We separated them and gave it a fresh coat of girly white paint.

Kate's bed is a different set, w/ a trundle underneath.
Perfect for cousin & friend sleep overs.
Nic's room is still a work in progress,
and hopefully will be done later next month, or at least by fall.
He spends the least amount of time in his room and has never felt
it a real priority to 'decorate' it.
Now onto some recent snapshots of pretty faces.

My beautiful girls.

The treasures of my heart.

The girls of the home.

And the very handsome boys.

Elli Jo: (said while crying after having feelings hurt)
"Brownies & crackers...yeah mom, that make MY happy!" Kate: (after Bobbi eating another random toy left lying around)
"Bobbi was my biggest dream once, now she's my nightmare."
Olivia: (when talking about upcoming school)
"Mom, I imagine my new teacher in a red suit."
Nicholas: (randomly speaking, after eating chicken for dinner)
"Man, I would HATE to be a chicken. All you do is eat, lay eggs, DIE, then someone eats you!" Andrew: (talking about school---he'll be a kindergartner)
"Mom, Elli is sure gonna miss me when I go to school. I bet you will too."
My anchor. My best friend.
Home. It's where MY heart is.
