Been quiet over here lately, hasn't it? Not a typical characteristic trait for me...quietness. You should feel fortunate, the people on this side of the screen would gladly trade places with you.
Here's what I have been doing lately...instead of writing here.
--I painted my nails this week. Fingernails. Which I never do. Ever. My toenails haven't been unpainted since, hmmmm, not sure if I have ever seen them naked...but my fingernails, not so much. But while dashing through the drugstore for a birthday card, this taupey-grey color caught my eye and inspired me to paint my fingernails. I am certain to regret it when they chip on day two.
--I went to the library. Because yes, I do NOT own a reader-thingy. And although I often eat my own words, going out on a limb here to say, I doubt I ever will. (Yes, I still listen to the radio and don't download music either...dark ages, I know) How can a computer screen replace the tactile beauty of the written word on page? So I visited the library with Miss Elli. She played, I read. We sat and enjoyed being surrounded by so much creativity. Brought home a big stack of the classics simplified for kids (or Chad). Family reading....LOVE IT!
--I have been de-cluttering in baby steps. Following the inspiration of others, I modified an idea found on Pinterest to fit our needs. So I am doing a "30 bags in 30 days" household de-cluttering. I made my list, stuck it on the frig and tackle a new spot daily. Some days it is as quick as a five-minute fix. Other days find me sitting on the floor amidst what looks like hurricane debris, clawing my way out of clutter. Loving the results. One flaw in the plan however....by the time the 30 day mark rolls around areas 1-15 will be cluttered again, I am certain.
--I have been cooking/baking a tad bit more than usual. More then usual means about twice a week, seriously. My culinary skills fall somewhere between non-existent and dismal. But as part of the de-clutter attempts, I am also trying to use up the excess of food supply as well. So I find myself pulling out frozen pork chops and attempting to create something edible from them. Not such a stretch for most...climbing Mt. Everest for me.
Okay, this post is getting rather lengthy and if the readership is minuscule already probably not the best idea to come back with a novel. So I will wrap it up...there really was no point anyway other than to attempt to defend my absence.

Just got my toe nails done in Texas, the finger still look awful.
As you know I don't cook any more than you do. I'm attempting a nice meal tonight with a roast and potatoes. I'm also shooting for a new muffin recipe with blueberries and oatmeal.
Oh goodness, decluttering? I keep most of my clutter hidden, but I KNOW IT'S STILL THERE. I should get some motivation to sort. Then again....naw, it can wait.
As for the reader thingy. I watched a lady use one on the airplane Sunday. The guy behind her held a book. He was shifting and trying not to bother the woman next to him while the other lady was sitting still and never having to turn a page. I'm beginning to wonder if this might not be so bad. For now I'll stick to real book, but time will tell if I cave.
Hello Heidi Jo. :-)
I got a mani/pedi finally after having a gift certificate from mother's day. I'm happy I did it, but my cuticles went crazy peeling for the week following. What an awful thing. My favorite thing was the massage chair, so I will only ever go back for the pedi.
I'm faltering on the 40 bags in 40 days. Weekends are the hardest. I'm still doing it though, because no one ever said it had to be 40 consecutive days. Anyway, you are right about the clutter returning before the cycle has ended. Booo!!! Its those dang kids.
One other thing, I've always loved reading a real book, but once I downloaded the kindle app to my iphone and my husband's iPad, it become very convenient, especially since I had just finished a book and found myself sitting for 2 hours at the dentist office the next day with nothing new. But alas, I had my iphone with a new book downloaded to the kindle app, just waiting for me. Now I can't put it down. I came home and picked up the iPad to continue reading. Its kinda cool.
I haven't been blogging because ... well ... I've had no desire to. ;-D
I WANT to blog. I have a lot to say... unimportant, of course. I want to be on pinterest. I want to chat with friends and be on facebook, but... sometimes I feel guilty spending time on the computer when my husband is sitting there next to me... how do I find a balance to this?
Missed you:)
@sohailah... you should blog about it. :-)
kool....that would qualify as 'interactive' blogging you know: section 3 article 12 of the blogging handbook addresses it w/ "responding to a commentor".
:o)
Oh I feel so much better about myself knowing pulling stuff out of the freezer and doing something with it is like climbing Mt. Everest for you too. Misery loves company I guess. : )
I still read books too but the whole download thing is such a wonder! LOVE being able to listen to great sermons from all over and buys songs individually. Ipods are awesome!
