People let me tell you....

I WATER SKIED!!

I will just let that sink in for a few moments....

I WATER SKIED! The girl who has an aversion to lake water. The girl who nearly hyper-ventilates at the thought of treading water with turtles and fish swimming below the surface. The girls who hates to have water in her face. The girl who has the swimming skills adequate to pass Level Three Swimming Lessons. The girl who has the upper body strength of a seven-year old boy. I WATER SKIED!

Now, I would not usually encourage bragging. Obviously not. But people, this is huge. But the reason that I am walking around with an enormously stupid looking grin...I got up right away. And skied around the whole lake, before having my husband slow the motor and I delicately sat down in the water. Oh yeah, baby. I am a natural.

So, I think that I will just make that my first and last attempt at it. Just in case it was beginners luck.

WooHoo! Congrats!

I do not like the thought of the fish with me in the lake either....kinda creeps me out. I would much rather swim in a pool but it's kinda hard to ski in a pool...lol!

Now that's fun stuff! Next you can try barefoot!

I water skied back in my younger days, before all of my issues with algae and fish poop. Pretty sure I would look like an idiot if I tried it now.

Kudos to you Heidi Jo. You've still got it! :)

I can't believe you didn't post any photos with this post!

i have similar issues teresa, but i think that was my motivation to get up right away...i didn't want to be slammed face first into the lake even once! :0)

no pictures, because um well, i was SKIING!!! actually, if we would have had any idea that i would actually cooperate and then succeed, there would have been photos. you should have seen my cheering section at the front of the boat. the kids were thrilled.

Way to go! I got up once, made it around the lake and never tried again. I was scared to death, proud, but very scared!

I want pictures!!! (I know you don't have any but I still want some!) ;)

Double yuck on lakes! I can't even remember the last time I was in one - YUCK! The kids were swimming this past weekend in the lake and it was so green that after five minutes Hayley couldn't stand it any longer and got out! (That's my girl!)

Congrats on overcoming your "fear."

Way to go!!! I have that same aversion to lake water - the idea of a leach approaching me and attaching its little body to mine makes me cringe

You're destined for Olympic Gold, Heidi Jo.

I wakeboarded for about 15 seconds a few weeks ago ~ I'd felt like I won the lottery.

You crack me up!! :) I had a huge aversion to lakes/ponds too. Didn't help that I actually had fish swimming all around my feet the first time I went into a local pond.

YUCK!!

Congratulations on the skiing - the last time I tried, there was something wrong with the boat and every time the boat tried to speed up (it couldn't) I looked like an idiot. Hee hee.

So - my kudos to you!! Strut your stuff! :)

Yea right! WE DON'T EVEN BELIEVE YOU!!! NO REAL EVIDENCE!!!! We want you to do it for real and have a picture of it this time.

(I do actually believe you though, and am glad you had success--woohoo. Put a few drinks in that girl and she'll try just about anything--lol).
