End of the season...(sob)

Last Friday marked the end of another year of T-Ball for our household. I can hardly hold back the tears. I volunteered to make treats for the last game. For some reason I felt like celebrating.

It could be that I was thrilled not to have three mornings a week tied up with lugging two official LUG-NUTS, and two mascot honorary lug-nuts, out to ball practice and games. (My kids were on a team called the "Lug-Nuts") Or it could be the joy I felt because I could stop threatening my children with all day lock down because of their rotten attitudes at practice. Or it could be that I felt obligated to bring treats for the coach who so graciously and tenderly gave his time and energy to these awkward yet aspiring athletes. Or it could be that I am just a super mom who loves to display her talent in corny little cupcake ways. Or it could be that despite it all, I love my kiddos a whole lot and couldn't resist a little celebration.

Here is the Lug-Nut that earned herself the title of "Most Improved" player. Of course she ended her season like a trooper and I think would have been all guns to play another four weeks. Well, that might be a stretch, but she certainly made an attitude turn-around and made us very proud of her perseverance.

Nicholas had a great season. His improvement from last year was astounding. He earned the title of, "Greatest Outfielder". He had a blast meeting up with four other members of his St. Thomas class each week and he will certainly miss the interaction with them. He is already looking forward to coach pitch next year...me, not so much.

How did you get out of all of this so early? Hunter still has 5 games left!! I LOVE the cupcakes and I think you made them because you are the super mom. I agree that these t-ball coaches should be honored in some way. The patience it takes to handle all of the 5-6 year olds who wear their gloves on their heads in the outfield or forget where to run after hitting the ball is to be commended.
Congrats to your little Lug-Nuts on a great year!

I think I was the one who needed an attitude adjustment with T-ball this year. I couldn't believe the amount of time and energy I had to expend for T-BALL!!! Lugging kids to practice and games plum wore me out. I was just glad the whole thing was over----and I didn't even make cute little cupcakes. You ARE a super-mom!

Those cupcakes do look good. You did a great job.
Thanks for sharing the photos of your kids playing.

Derek has games until the end of July.

Oh you will like coach pitch too.
They just get better at playing every year.
Derek loves it. We have fun watching him play.
He will be moving up to the next league next year. Which will be different as the coaches don't pitch anymore..the kids start pitching.

Look at those treats you little Betty Crocker you! Wowza!! I had the biggest laugh when Chad was leading (pushing) Olivia to first base! I probably wouldn't be laughing if it was Alex, but it's always funny when it's someone else’s kids!

Thanks for volunteering this year! Anyone who dedicates that much time to teaching 5 and 6 year-olds deserves a pat on the back!

You said there was beer in that cooler - I heard you! I demand beer! ;)

Kidding of coarse. I bet those cupcakes were a homerun with the kids. They look great!

I was talking to 'Officer Lurz' this morning and he told me about the 4some. He said that they are very excited to see each other next year and VERY excited for Coach Pitch. Cute!!

CUTE cupcakes! Way to go mom!

Boy, that sure is a short t-ball season! I'm sure it felt much longer to you!

Gramma couldn't you tell how much Olivia loved being a Lug-nut? I really think she has found her thing.
Congrats to your little Lug-nuts. I suppose Evie would benefit from such an experience. She would probably rather do the arts and crafts. Elaina would be the little slugger.

I was SO happy that t-ball season ended before the real heat of summer began. But I really did enjoy it. It makes me wish that it always stayed so sweet and supportive-- I have a feeling that it's going to change as they get older, ya know?

Come on Heidi...you had fun...admit it!! You said I even looked more frazzled with 4 children than you did. The good thing about that is they weren't all mine!!
